I wonder how this building looked when it was fresh and new. It couldn't possibly be any more beautiful than it is now but it would be great to know so that a recipe of sorts could be determined for achieving this look (hundreds of years from now). There must be a way to speed up the process though, to make a new house look extremely old. Any ideas on how to do that?1st Option

I know. I could stare at some of the buildings in our downtown area for hours just wondering what they were in their prime. I wish I could buy them all up and help them :)
It is lovely, and it's oozing with character. The only ways I know to age buildings is a) dont prime your exterior, then your paint will age and flake quickly, b) paint with an iron oxide paint, then coat it with a rusting agent, c) hit your brickwork with an acid treatment d) clad the building with weather-boards, then you can make them look as old as you like!
