These are fantastic work spaces. Each of them allows for a fair amount of spreading out with a large desk. The extra storage in this last photo is a huge plus and I love the color schemes. They are studious, fashionable and inspiring! Proof that form and function can co-exist.

Anticipation & Inquiry

I love a new magazine! This one from Michelle Adams and her business partner, Patrick Cline. Coming in September, I am so looking forward to a new one to love.

With this announcement from someone whom I already admire for her textile business, I do have to ask, "How do people learn how to do this stuff?!" I mean really. I'd love to be a textile designer(which she is). I want to be part of a magazine (which she is)! But how? Anyone, anyone? I sit and ask husband these questions. He doesn't have the answers and I think he's getting a little tired of the questions. Don't get me wrong. I know that it takes hard work and talent but what else? I would really benefit from a step by step tutorial if available.

Right now it's one of my major weaknesses. I think the thing I like most is how surprisingly well the natural wood looks with it. Of course, the contrasting ceiling and the black and white canopy striped rug certainly help.

Darn

Two weeks ago I spotted a daybed at the thrift store. I've been wanting one for the backyard. It was $30. I didn't buy it. Today I saw it at the antique store for $200! It wasn't as cute as this one is though so maybe I'll be luckier with the next one I spot.

Bell'occhio is one of the resources listed in Home Sewn. Perusing the online shop, I've decided that I want, need and/or desire every item there and that I most certainly, desperately need to visit the shop in person.

Necessity

I love a painted front door, it's such a personality piece. I long to paint mine. It has a great shape that would be showcased more with paint than it is leaving it lacquered wood. Nailhead trim like the top photo and a great knocker are a necessity too!

Looking For

Finding butterflies just like these is my current obsession. Husband painted my bike, a garage sale treasure, and now it's a vintage cutie (I'll try to post a picture tomorrow). These butterflies may have been added just for the picture but I think it'd be worth a shot trying them on for good. If you know where I should look, do tell.

How's this for backyard interest! Can you imagine? I'm not usually a big fan of blue but I do love the way this blue looks in amongst all of that greenery. My goal in life is to make my yard into a beautiful disaster. This little corner is along the lines of what I'm thinking. Maybe a little more disastrous though.

A Confession

I have virtually no pictures of the family displayed anywhere in our home. Really. There is one on a shelf in the living room and a grouping of silhouettes in my bedroom. That's it. I am thinking about how fantastic this grouping looks though. I love the atypical arrangement. That I could go for.
