In my own home, I love to have every open space filled. It just feels right.

Inspired
I've been feeling nautically inspired lately...so of course I'm loving these vintage pennant banners.

Explanation
I've been out gathering inspiration (or is it getting acclimated to the new semester, dog and family schedule). I'll be back here on Monday. Hope your weekends are all just perfect!

Weekend
This has been a busy week for me, I am looking forward to some relaxation this weekend.
Doesn't this look like a perfect spot for winding down? It seems like it would be fairly simple to create. I may need to clear out a corner somewhere in our little yard to create just this kind of sit and stay atmosphere.

School Clothes
Classes started this week for me. I study fashion at my local J.C. This is what I wish I were wearing today. . . well this or just about anything from the Collection. There's no way around it, when it comes to fashion, I'm a classics kind of girl.

Style
This might be my favorite interior image, ever. I just love the combination of elegance and natural beauty.

Addition
I have to tell you, we got a puppy this weekend. I've been wanting one for so long. This one found me. She showed up in our backyard one day (gate doesn't latch). I found her owners but they weren't sure they were going to keep her. They had found her abandoned with five other pups. So. . . the long and short of it is, she's ours now. We've named her Miss Olive Black. She and our cat, Mandarin Orange are working on getting used to each other but the rest of us are all in love!
Fact
Pages taken from old dictionaries make great wall art and are even more intriguing if they are in a foreign language.

The Weekend
Here it is already, the weekend. I'm off to visit thrift stores and garage sales on a hunt to find perfect pieces for my middle sister's new home. It's a tiny studio cottage in the Monterey (CA) area. Our goal? Bohemian Beach. Should be lots of fun.

Adored
Isn't this art piece by Camilla Engman great? Utilitarian pieces used for art are a favorite of mine. I ask myself, how is it that I have never before seen the shape of a house in an envelope when it's so obvious?

Declaration
I will always choose beautiful old pieces of furniture over sparkly new ones. I just love them so and I honestly think it's easier to find an old piece that is appropriate for most spaces than it is to find new.

Weekend
Here's to a lazy kind of weekend with leisurely bike rides and berry picking by the river. To sleeping in late after staying up late the night before. And maybe even running through the sprinklers in the backyard. If all goes well, I will do all of these things over the next couple of days. I'm going to make a list. What about you, what are you looking forward to?

Pretty
Love is right! The piano and the sign.
We have a piano. It's not the one I dreamed we would have one day but I do love it. All of our children took lessons for a time. Some for a long time, some just a short time. One of them can even play by ear but no one wants to play anymore. Our piano is just another pretty thing at the moment but I'm okay with that because it's there if they want to use it and it makes a statement about our interests just as much as a book on the mantle (but it takes up far more room).

Dedicated
Look at this amazing library! It really makes me think that a library could be created in just about any home. That's an idea that I like quite a bit...
