This weekend calls for lots of time in the yard. A friend shared with me from her plantings yesterday. Creeping fig, a beautiful fern, ivy geranium and a ground cover whose name I don't know. It's perfect timing. I did some major weeding last weekend, started moving some of our plants around a bit and separating others that had gotten a little carried away. Now I'll fill in some vacancys with these newly acquired transplants.
I love to have plants in my yard that originated in another yard. We have Calla Lillies from Uncle Ray and Elephant Ear from a generous stranger. They make me happy.

Seriously

A garden in thimbles. Amazing.
Snails in sweaters?! Hilarious. I love it. Right now I am sitting in my living room listening to the sound of a lone croaking frog trying to send him telepathic instructions to eat all of my snails. I have tons. It seems I most like plants that create a perfect habitat for them. It seems I have a love hate relationship with them.
There's more great stuff in her shop, stop by.

Sight Unseen
Given the opportunity I would buy any of these homes in an instant without even needing to see the inside. I'm sure that wouldn't be necessarily wise but it would certainly be an exciting adventure.

More Backyard Inspiration
I love the idea of creating a retreat in the backyard. No travel time at all, just step out and we're on vacation.

Endearing Qualities
The drama of an oversized headboard is never over the top as far as I'm concerned. And it's a project that looks so doable. Just a couple pieces of plywood, batting and a few yards of fabric. Hmm. . .

A Good Thing
Friday we planted an apple tree. In about 10-20 years it will provide shade for our kitchen window. Yesterday it bloomed, soon it will give us apples. We check it's progress every day so I know that the most important thing it's going to give us is memories.

Busy Bee
I've been working on a project this week for a Textiles class I'm taking; printing on fabric. Bee's are my chosen subject. This is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time but just haven't gotten around to. Now there's a deadline. That's highly motivating for me.
Last night I carved a lino block & it was fun! Really. I usually don't like the process of making things, just the end result but this I really liked. My main reference for this project has been 'Printing by Hand' by Lena Corwin. If this subject is of interest to you, I highly recommend that you pick it up.
