Inspired

I found this book yesterday on a trip to the fabric store and oh my. It's lovely. Full of inspiring French goodness. Coasters, heart shaped lavender pillows, an adorable pouf; I don't know where to start.

New to Me

Rian Rae is a great source that is new to me. This online store has an eclectic mix of items available which is in keeping with the owners vision of combining old and new, modern and rustic, sophisticated and grounded.

Just look at these pots! They are made from repurposed materials and they come (7 of them) with seeds and soil in the fantastic basket shown.

These mushroom soaps come in the adorable nest; a great gift.

The lamp I want for myself! I've bookmarked Rian Rae and I'll definitely be going back.

One Person's Trash...

Here is my latest found treasure. This cement table base was going to be thrown out by a neighbor of my parents so I scooped it up. I tried it out here by our front door but it was all wrong so after a consultation with a friend it has moved to the backyard where I will be filling it with plants.

I should wait to post until it has been further beautified but I'm so excited about it's prospects that I just can't wait.

Imagine This

This is one of my favorite things. Imagine how happy I was almost two years ago to get it for free. It was used as a display at the
GAP. I loved it in the store and asked what would be done with it once they were finished with the display. The salesperson let me know that most of the items used for display are disposed of or given away on a first come first served basis. Some of the more expensive pieces are used again. Our local store's sign had already been spoken for so I called around and was able to reserve one 30 minutes away. Now it adorns the room of our youngest and it works there just as well as I had imagined it would.

Happy, Happy Day

There's nothing like a great find to make my day. I've spent entire mornings garage saling with the kids which is absolutely better than going alone. One of them is in charge of the newspaper, the youngest takes photos and the others scope out the goods as we drive by. I keep them up to date on the hot items on my list and they tell me if it's worth stopping. Husband is even happy to go with me on occasion.

More often than not though if I go out specifically looking, I don't find a thing. So many times I have run out on a quick errand and had to get home quick to get Husband (muscle) and his truck. Imagine how happy I was to find this sofa table Sunday afternoon for only $10 and it's in great shape. It's hard to tell by the picture but it's all wood and nicely made I may leave it as is or put a coat of paint on. It's just distressed enough to look perfect either way. I have been keeping an eye out for something like this for quite some time. Oh, happy, happy day!
