Location, Location, Location

I know I'd never get much book work accomplished here, but oh how I'd love to try!

Do Over

Our dog ate our winter garden. Every last bit. So, until next year, I'll have to be satisfied with pictures of prosperity. I hope you have been more successful than I.

Scale

One of my absolute favorite elements of design is scale. It's something that excites me over and over again. The large bug print above then, is something I love. And if that print happened to be an E. A. Seguy illustration, printed from the archives at the New York Public Library, that would be even better!

Impatient

Can't wait for spring to get into the dirt? Try potted primroses indoors. They hold their bloom for weeks, are easy to care for and pretty to look at!

Library

I need a dedicated library; wall to wall books with one comfy couch. Definitely on my list for "someday". As it is now, they are helter-skelter, all over the house.

Sentimentality

I'd love to find an old envelope sent by my grandmother to enlarge as art or maybe a whole bunch of them in the original sizes clustered together to tell a story simply with the post marked dates. I remember that I used to be a bit jealous that anything sent to my brother came addressed as Master while mine read Miss.

Introductions

I would like to introduce you to Mister Finch, in case you have not had the opportunity to meet him as of yet. I admire his work. He is a creator of lovely soft sculptures. See more of his work here.

Definitely

My focus this year is going to be broad, wisdom; finding it, developing it, appreciating it...What better way to start than with words of wisdom quoted on the blackboard (that I already have, blank, in the dining room). Love.

Exactly

This is how I imagine my first apartment would have looked if I were then who I am today. No waiting for or running out to buy new pieces when the money could have been better spent elsewhere and the style didn't fit. This would have been perfect and then perhaps I would still have tangible pieces of that me.

Recommendation

Friends, I have two things to bring to your attention. One is the beauty of the book, Vogue, The Covers. My husband surprised me with it for Christmas. It is wonderfully beautiful with covers that span the entire 150 year history of the magazine. The other is the way in which he got the idea to get me the book, the show, CBS Sunday Morning. It's one of our favorites, full of fun information. If you're not watching it, I recommend that you check it out...

Work

Imagine working in this space. I don't think I'd have any problem with that! The monochromatic scheme seems just perfect for staying on task. The school semester is wrapping up so for me, it's all about work at the moment...actually that's been true about most of the semester, it just feels a little more pertinent right now.

Look

I adore this bag. I'm on the hunt for a new/old school bag, as the one I have is coming apart; too many heavy books...it's only lasted one semester! This one looks like it would last a lifetime.
